When ruling Rome, Marcus Aurelius had a servant with an unusual duty.

This servant always stood behind Marcus.

Every time his people praised him or even knelt before him, this servant would whisper a sentence into his ear.

What was it?

"You're just a man. You're just a man."


So often, I become arrogant about what I have achieved.

Feeling superior to others.

Yet, the world keeps turning. At another time, I could find myself in an uncomfortable place.
