Actually, the title of this writing is just a translation, from a quote I came across some time ago.

You will never understand until it happens to you.

Perhaps we've heard someone say, "That's all? Why are you crying?"

It's true that many things in this world seem trivial, yet they can make someone shed tears.

The reason is that emotions work more complexly than what meets the eye.

And unfortunately, not everyone can understand those feelings, unless they've experienced them themselves.

This understanding has ultimately guided me not to belittle others' sadness. I'm reluctant to laugh at what makes someone else cry, even if it seems trivial. Because it's possible that, sometime later, the same thing happens to me, and it turns out I feel an even deeper sadness than they did.

What we sow is what we reap.

Besides, laughing at others' sadness doesn't make us look great. Remember this well.
